SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 25, 1999--Creative Design Solutions, Inc., (CDS) successfully demonstrated Sun's Jini technology today, embedded in the CDS Pi product. Pi with Jini was developed for use in highly optimized network connected appliances. This achievement is central to delivering on the promise of network plug and play.

Pi is a highly extensible software platform from which to derive highly specialized application server appliances or storage server solutions. Once a Pi based product is attached to the network, Jini announces and gathers vital information about network resources and capabilities from other Jini participants. This brings different network resources together to function in unison, dynamically, and represents the primary advantage Jini contributes to Pi.

This combination of technologies leverages resources across the network thus reducing the frequency of incremental network upgrades as devices cooperatively share on another's resources transparently. Consequently, an entirely new way of writing and deploying applications can be realized.
