Integrated Exchange Provides Private Communication Network

Utilizing Existing Resources

FastComm (OTC BB: FSCX) announces the launch of the GlobalStack-EX(tm) a midsize central site router that integrates Voice, Video and Data over packetized networks.

Targeted for enterprise customers as well as alternative international long distance carriers, that want to make full use of their bandwidth with expanded service offering. By delivering quality Voice, Video and Data over a routed Lease Line or Frame Relay networks. Through IP or Frame Relay packetization multi-media resources can distributed by bit stream to the required service, such telephone PBX systems Video to the desktop and routed data to a central site, or in a geographically dispersed regions.

The Global Stack -EX(tm) provides a powerful set of resources for managing, maintaining and /or building a local, regional or global network exchange. By integrating Switched Virtual Circuits (SVC), Voice, Video and Data, traffic can be sent directly to the required site, which eliminates the number of hops that may exist in a PVC Network. With this seamless transport companies can reduce cost and maintain a quality of service (QoS) in what FastComm calls its Lease Routed Network (LRN(tm)).

The GlobalStack - EX(tm) will support up to 4 T1/E1 interfaces, which can be mixed between user side and Frame Relay traffic. Condensed traffic is blended from remote site over PVC's or Leased Line and processed at the central site utilizing industry standard protocols such as FRF. 11 and FRF.12 for voice and RIP 1 and 2 for data and H.323 for Video.

A total of 30 Voice channels can be compressed packetized coded and decoded with a 16: 1 compression ratio in the ACELP format; with silence suppression for real audio quality transmission. This quality of services incorporates echo cancellation, and removal, as well as playback correction for priority delivery of voice.

In reaching Global markets signaling requirement can be adapted from T1 to E1 with support for CAS, CCS, and QSIG with different interfaces, for PCM types can also be matched per PBX. In addition to quality of service Global Stack -EX(tm) offers Transparent Tandem Switching this unique feature eliminates the congestion at the PBX, by passing the compressed packetized data calls for delivery at the required site. In rounding out the service offering for public and private networks, the GlobalStack - EX(tm) supports Group III faxing from point to point throughout the entire network and / or the ability to cease a PBX trunk for off network transmissions.

Powering the GlobalStack - EX(tm) is distributed processor RISC architecture utilizing a Motorola MH68860 host processor routing engine for front ending each T1/E1 interface. This discrete RISC architecture offers a 32 bit path and DMA caching for each channel, which can maintain throughput up to 8Mps per path, which reduces LAN / Wan bottlenecks.

The balance and foundation for the GlobalStack-EX(tm) is driven by the IPOS (tm) open routed architecture which supplies OMI(tm) support for Legacy, LAN, WAN and Security protocols. These protocol modules can be adapted to each site to produce the desired routed Voice, Video and Data architecture.

By pulling all these resources together in a single easy to manage rack mountable chassis FastComm provides a virtual solution when matched with FastComm's its ECX-Router(tm). This family of Next Generation routers is easy to manage and with FastComm's dialog driven installation and support menu, which reduces cost of ownership through simplicity.

"With many companies trying to control cost while expanding new services for Internet, Intranet and Extranet traffic the GlobalStack -EX(tm) makes the migration a transparent process. We have been able to harness voice, video and data resources which allows a streamline processing to control the enterprise", stated Peter Madsen president of FastComm Communications Corp.
