Peter Harris to Head Up International Security Systems Subsidiary of Analogic Corporation

PEABODY, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 4, 1999--Analogic Corporation (NASDAQ:ALOG), is pleased to announce that Peter W. Harris has joined the Company as President of its recently formed subsidiary, International Security Systems Corporation (ISS). In this capacity he will direct Analogic's efforts in the security and detection arena, focusing initially on the eXaminer 3DX(tm) 6000, a CT-based explosive detection system for screening checked baggage in airports.

The sophisticated eXaminer 3DX 6000, developed jointly by L-3 Communications and Analogic, received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification on November 23, 1998. It is the first FAA-certified system to generate full, three-dimensional images of all objects in passenger bags. In addition to this activity, ISS will seek to design and manufacture for OEM customers new classes of X-ray, magnetic resonance and spectroscopic electronic and mechanical systems and subsystems capable of object interrogation, substance identification and other security applications.

Formerly Mr. Harris was Vice President, Sales and Marketing, at American Science and Engineering, Inc. (AS&E), an international manufacturer of X-ray security inspection systems.

A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, he attained the rank of Captain and serves in the U.S. Naval Reserve as an aviator. Mr. Harris earned his Master's Degree in National Security Affairs from Georgetown University.
