Two High Technology and Media Industry Veterans Join BigStar Entertainment Board of Directors

BigStar.com (www.bigstar.com), the online movie superstore, announced today that Marleen McDaniel and I. Martin Pompadur have joined the BigStar Entertainment, Inc. board of directors. Marleen McDaniel is President, CEO and Chairperson of Women.com Networks and Martin Pompadur is Executive Vice President of News Corporation and President of News Corporation Eastern and Central Europe and a member of News Corporation's Executive Management Committee.

Ms. McDaniel is a well-known leader of the Internet and interactive publishing industries. Ms. McDaniel's experience also includes serving as Vice President of Marketing for Crescendo Communications, Inc. (now Cisco Systems, Inc.) and as a Director at Sun Microsystems, Inc. She also serves on the board of directors for eve.com, Inc., and is a trustee for the Institute for Women in Technology.

Mr. Pompadur brings diverse and high level media industry experience to BigStar Entertainment's board of directors. Prior to his current position at News Corporation, , Mr. Pompadur was President and CEO of RP Companies, which he founded after his tenure as President of the Ziff Corporation . Mr. Pompadur has also held various positions at American Broadcast Companies, Inc., including General Manager of the Television Network, Vice President of the Broadcast Division and President of the Leisure Activities Group, and a member of the ABC Board of Directors.
