Business Wire, July 13, 1999
MIDDLETOWN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 13, 1999--
The Pennsylvania Lottery announces the names of the tenth and final group of 100 semi-finalists selected in the Lottery's POCONO 500/PENNSYLVANIA 500 instant game second-chance drawing.
Each week, for 10 weeks, 100 names were selected from among the thousands of entries in the POCONO 500/PENNSYLVANIA 500 second-chance drawing -- 1,000 semi-finalists will be drawn in total. Five hundred semi-finalists will be selected for the chance to attend the Pennsylvania 500 race weekend, July 23-25, 1999. Each will receive a Pocono Raceway/PA Lottery jacket.
From those 500, five finalists randomly will be selected to attend the Pennsylvania 500 Winston Cup race. The finalists will each receive $5,000 cash and a chance at winning a Pocono Raceway replica pace car.
Prior to the race, the finalists will select a key. The finalist whose key successfully starts the pace car wins. The winner will have the opportunity to make a pre-race parade lap around the track in the car.
The Pennsylvania 500 is the second Winston Cup race at Pocono Raceway this year. On June 20, 1999, Krystyna Krukowski of Shenandoah, Schuylkill County, was the winner of a replica pace car at the Pocono 500 race. Mrs. Krukowski was one of five finalists who had been randomly selected by the Lottery from the first group of 500 semi-finalists.
