Goody's Names New Vice President Divisional Merchandise Manager for Juniors Division

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 16, 1999--
Goody's Family Clothing Inc. (Nasdaq/NM:GDYS) has named Debbie Harvey, a 23-year veteran of retail merchandising as the Company's new Vice President, Divisional Merchandise Manager for its juniors division.
A graduate of the University of Florida in Gainesville, Harvey joins Goody's from the Home Shopping Network, where she held the position of Vice President for Ready to Wear, Accessories and Footwear, and managed a staff of 25 merchants. Prior to joining the Home Shopping Network, she served for seven years as Vice President of Sportswear and Dresses for Bealls Department Stores in Bradenton, Florida.
"With her extensive background in retail merchandising and her unique understanding of the women's apparel market, we think Debbie will bring a new level of excitement to Goody's Junior Division," said Tom Kelly, Executive Vice President and General Merchandise Manager for the Company.
At Goody's, Harvey will spearhead the planning, buying and advertising of the Company's junior sportswear business. She will report to Keith Reichelderfer, Sr. Vice President, General Merchandise Manager for juniors and misses sportswear.
With headquarters in Knoxville, Tennessee, Goody's is a retailer of moderately pried apparel for women, men and children, operating 269 stores in the 16 states of Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia.
