Star Gas Declares Quarterly Distribution of $0.575

STAMFORD, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 23, 1999--
Star Gas Partners, L.P. (NYSE:SGU) announced today that its regularly scheduled quarterly distribution of $0.575 per common unit for the three months ended June 30, 1999 will be paid on August 13, 1999 to common unitholders of record as of August 3, 1999.
Star Gas common units trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol SGU. Star Gas Senior Subordinated Unitholders (NYSE:SGH) are eligible to receive distributions beginning February 2000.
Star Gas Partners, L.P. is a leading distributor of home heating oil and propane and has been an active consolidator in these industries. Through its wholly-owned Petro subsidiary, Star is the nation's largest retail distributor of home heating oil, serving approximately 336,000 customers in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic.
