processes, and organizations.

-- Streamlined operations through server consolidation.
Amdahl Global Solutions, a division of Amdahl Corporation, today announced the launching of its Enterprise Integration Practice. The Practice offers adaptive integration consulting services to discover "points of process failure" and prescribe proven solutions for the enterprise. Thereafter, the Practice assembles, manages and delivers the best resources available for the prescribed initiatives, including integrating Web technology with legacy technology, increasing the quality-of-service for e-Commerce and e-Business applications and achieving streamlined operations through server consolidation.
A study conducted by International Data Corporation (IDC) in October 1998(1), confirmed Amdahl as a leading IT solutions provider by naming Amdahl/DMR Consulting Group among the top five firms for their ability to build IT solutions, placing ahead of Big Five firms like KPMG Peat Marwick, Price Waterhouse, Deloitte & Touche and Coopers and Lybrand.
To solve business problems associated with integrating Web technology, the Enterprise Integration Practice offers Web-IT consulting services. These services leverage initiatives flowing from the Amdahl/Microsoft alliance with solutions provided by other world-class companies to provide clients with solutions that merge Web technology into the traditional data center. These services span heterogeneous systems, including System/390(R), Microsoft Windows NT(R) and UNIX(R) systems, plus over 40 database types.
"We build adaptive solutions for hard-to-solve integration issues," said George O'Meara, Enterprise Integration Practice Managing Director at Amdahl Global Solutions. "Our consultants take the hype out of 'hype.com' with common sense System/390 to Web solutions. Enterprise integration is one of the greatest IT challenges in recent times and we possess the depth and breadth of legacy system expertise to address the problem. We are committed towards understanding a customer's business needs and requirements in order to adapt technology and services to form solutions that meet these needs and requirements."
To help clients make e-commerce and e-business more reliable and secure, the Enterprise Integration Practice offers Web Quality-of-Service consulting services that assess, enable and manage Internet/Web infrastructures to maintain service levels. In order to help clients simplify operational environments, the Enterprise Integration Practice offers Server Consolidation consulting services. These services consolidate System/390 systems, UNIX systems or Windows NT systems. These server environments can be logically consolidated without re-locating servers or reducing the numbers of servers.
