Fairchild Aerospace Names Mark Provost Director of Support Engineering

SAN ANTONIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 26, 1999--

Fairchild Aerospace Corp. announced today the appointment of Mark T. Provost as director of support engineering.

In his new role, Provost will coordinate all phases of engineering support for Fairchild and Dornier aircraft operators. He will be based at the corporate headquarters in San Antonio and report to Dan Kirkpatrick, vice president, technical support.

Provost will integrate engineering support functions for the Metro and Merlin aircraft fleets with the support efforts in Oberpfaffenhofen for the Dornier 228 and 328 fleets. He will lead development of modification programs and work with operators to increase dispatch reliability and lower maintenance costs. Provost will also lead the company's support engineering efforts for the 328JET and 728JET family of aircraft as they enter revenue service.

Provost returns to San Antonio with almost 20 years of engineering experience with a number of aerospace companies, most recently as director of engineering for Structural Integrity Engineering of Chatsworth, Calif. He has also held top engineering positions with PEMCO World Air Services, Raytheon Co., Sino-Swearingen Aircraft Co. and Dee Howard Co. Sino-Swearingen and Dee Howard are based in San Antonio.

Provost holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering and a master's of business administration degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio. He is a Texas board certified professional engineer.

In addition to supporting its existing fleet of aircraft, Fairchild Aerospace produces an all-jet family of regional jets and airliners. The recently certified 328JET is designed for low-cost operation, unmatched passenger comfort and enhanced aircraft performance in the 30-seat regional category. The regional airliner family includes the 428JET 44-seat jet. Fairchild Aerospace has also introduced the 728JET family of 50 to 105 seat airliners.
