L.A. County Fair Announces 1999 Entertainment Lineup and Selects Ticketmaster to Provide Ticketing Services to Fair and Concert Events

Los Angeles County Fair today announced that multi-platinum-selling musical artists including Randy Travis, The Righteous Brothers, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, the Beach Boys and Clay Walker are among the performers scheduled to headline its 1999 summer concert events Sept. 9-26 at Fairplex in Pomona, CA. L.A. County Fair has also selected Ticketmaster to provide event ticketing services to attend the Fair and special evening concert events.
For the first time ever, L.A. County Fair-goers have the opportunity to purchase tickets to attend the Fair via Ticketmaster's retail Ticket Center locations including Tower Records, Robinsons-May, Tu Musica, and Ritmo Latino; Charge-By-Phone Network by calling 714/740-2000, 213/480-3232, or 805/583-8700; and online at www.ticketmaster.com or www.fairplex.com. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the Fairplex box office.
Los Angeles County Fair will offer concert-goers a kaleidoscope of musical styles. Country artist Randy Travis is scheduled to kick off the Fair's opening night concert on Thurs., Sept. 9, at the grandstand stage. The opening weekend lineup also includes the Righteous Brothers on Sept. 10, Violent Femmes on Sept. 11, pop artists Jennifer Paige and Blaque on Sept. 12, and platinum-selling R&B/pop artist Monica on Sept. 13. Contemporary Christian artists Jars of Clay will play at the Fair on Sept. 14, followed by rockin' swing band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on Sept. 15. Motown legends The Four Tops are scheduled for Sept. 16, the Isley Brothers featuring Ronald Isley on Sept. 17, and legendary Soul artists The O'Jays on Sept. 18. The Latin sounds of Los Tigres del Norte will be featured on Sept. 19, and pop group The Moffatts will perform on Sept. 21. The Beach Boys return to the Fair with their familiar sounds of summer on Sept. 22, and will be followed by country artist Clay Walker Sept. 23, R&B artist Isaac Hayes Sept. 24 and classic rock group Kansas Sept. 25.
Avalon Attractions will produce and market the Fair's 1999 headline concert and entertainment series. Live concert events will fill the Fairplex Park grandstand stage on 16 of the Fair's 18 nights. Monster Truck Motor Madness will be featured on Sept. 20, and the second annual California State Championship Demolition Derby -- the Pile-Up in Pomona, will be held on the Fair's closing day, Sept. 26.

General admission to most shows at the Fairplex Park grandstand stage is free with regular Fair admission, and reserved grandstand, box and stage area seats are available for purchase. There is an additional charge for the performances by Randy Travis, Violent Femmes, The O'Jays, Los Tigres del Norte and Kansas.
