The McGraw-Hill Companies Appoints E. Addison "Buzz" Ellis III President of its Educational Publishing Group

The McGraw-Hill Companies today named E. Addison "Buzz" Ellis III president of its Educational Publishing Group, responsible for the company's industry leading K-12 educational publishing operations.
Ellis had been president of Glencoe/McGraw-Hill, the nation's leading secondary school publisher. He will report to Robert E. Evanson, executive vice president, Educational and Professional Publishing Group.
Ellis will leverage resources across the Educational Publishing Group, strengthening The McGraw-Hill Companies' position in the expanding U.S. market for elementary and high school learning materials. Enrollment in grades K-12 are expected to grow 1.5% annually through 2006, and many states and localities will aggressively purchase new learning materials.
Ellis will direct the McGraw-Hill School Division; Glencoe/McGraw-Hill; CTB/McGraw-Hill, a leading provider of student testing and assessment; SRA/McGraw-Hill, a top publisher of K-8 supplementary educational materials; and McGraw-Hill Consumer Products, which develops educational products for the home market.

Before joining Glencoe/McGraw-Hill, Ellis held several key management positions at Merrill Publishing Company, including director of Product Management, director of Marketing, vice president and director of the School Division and president of the El-Hi Division.
The McGraw-Hill Companies also announced today that Steven E. McClung is appointed president of secondary school publisher Glencoe/McGraw-Hill, replacing Ellis in that position. McClung will be responsible for all Glencoe/McGraw-Hill operations. He will report to Ellis.
