ADAC Laboratories to Invest $10 Million in Information Technology Systems

MILPITAS, Calif.--(BW HealthWire)--July 6, 1999--
ADAC Laboratories (Nasdaq: ADACE) today announced that it has launched a two-year program to implement a new information technology systems strategy. The plan, which calls for investments totaling some $10 million, involves ADAC's customer and sales information systems technology, as well as financial, manufacturing, planning, inventory, distribution, workflow and human resources information systems. The company's private, voice, video, and data networks will also be expanded to assist communications between ADAC's Milpitas California headquarters and sites in Houston, Texas and other field locations throughout the World.
ADAC also announced that its has an agreement with Siebel Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: SEBL), the world's leading supplier of Web-based front office software systems, and eLoyalty(TM), a premier consulting firm focused on loyalty and customer relationship management solutions, to implement ADAC's new customer information systems technology.
"ADAC's current legacy system no longer supports the needs of the dynamic customer environment that we see in healthcare today," said Dave Crussell, vice president of information technology. "These investments are vital to the long-term success and growth of ADAC," he added. "ADAC's focus on customer service and support will be greatly enhanced by the use of this state-of-the-art customer information systems technology. Using the Web-based front office applications from Siebel Systems, and the wealth of knowledge provided by our implementation partner, eLoyalty, we will be able to provide a technology solution that enhances our performance in all areas of service and sales," Mr. Crussell stated.

Mr. Crussell also stated that "ADAC has signed an agreement with Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq: ORCL) to license Oracle Software for its Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (ERP). This will include ADAC's financial systems, manufacturing systems, and human resource systems."
