First Integrated Online Travel Management System Offers Cost Control, Compliance With Corporate Travel Policy; Sixth Largest Navigant International First Major User
Business Wire, July 7, 1999
BALTIMORE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 7, 1999--
Companies fueling the $165 billion business travel industry looking to control costs -- their primary goal(1) -- can now do so with the first, fully-integrated Internet-based online travel management system.
One online package lets companies manage and book travel with custom itemizing and reporting on all costs and activity. With the lowest competitive cost, it's also an "intuitive" system that starts expense reports before travelers get off the ground.
TravelCenter, developed by TravelGuide Software, Inc. (TGS) of Baltimore and Reston, Va., is now becoming available through travel agencies which will offer the system under their own labels. Denver-based Navigant International, TravelCenter's first major user, recently released TravelCenter as "Business FLYR," the first in a suite of Internet products.
"TravelCenter has a good combination of functionality, cost, efficiency, ease of implementation, and ease of installation," said Robert Dunlop, Navigant International's executive vice president, Marketing and Technology. TravelCenter is also available through Cornerstone Information Systems of Bloomington, In. as Expert Travel Center, its private label.
TravelCenter offers real-time, worldwide airline reservation searching and booking; continual tracking and updating of all information (such as added flights and seating availability); itinerary-based, as-you-go expense tracking and reporting; total activity reporting with custom analyses; paperless e-ticketing; integration with a quality control system; and an intuitive feature that books, saves and carries forward individual preferences. It also offers an e-mail Message Center for faster communication.
At $1,500 per corporate client, plus $10.00 per month per user, TravelCenter's pricing is significantly lower than having to select several products to do what TravelCenter provides in one package. Introductory purchasing options will include "seat blocks" with an annual fee for greater value on volume booking.
Travel managers can test TravelCenter's user module through its web site: www.travelguidesoftware.com. For more information, contact your travel agency or call TravelGuide Software at 888/965-6500.
TravelGuide Software Inc., based in Baltimore and Reston, is a pioneer provider of Internet-based corporate travel management solutions. Founded in 1995, TGS received the first worldwide license for a GDS-branded Internet solution and created the first proprietary GDS-certified interface to a major reservation network.
