Business Wire, July 8, 1999
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 8, 1999--
At a luncheon held yesterday, in the Heisman Trophy Room, at the Downtown Athletic Club in New York City, In-Sports International (OTC BB/SYMBOL:IRTN) introduced The New Look in Athletic Surfaces, " LOMBARDI TURF ".
Joe Lombardi, President of IRTN, said that " LOMBARDI TURF " is a "State of the Art" Athletic field surface which combines the Finest Safety and Durability features in the industry, with the look and feel of Natural Grass, and represents the first significant change in synthetic Athletic surfaces since Artificial turf came on the scene 30 years ago in Houston, Texas.
Lombardi also said that " LOMBARDI TURF " stands in a class by itself because of its new technology and rubberized shock pad, which includes drainage and complies with "G-MAX" testing safety requirements.
Doctor Allan Levy, a member of IRTN's Board of Directors, currently Director of The New York Giants Sports Medicine, for the past 25 years, stated that the samples on display of " LOMBARDI TURF " are the best of any synthetic surface he has seen in the last 30 years. He also said that until now he had been one of the strongest supporters of natural grass athletic fields and that he now heartily endorses " LOMBARDI TURF " and is proud to be associated with IRTN. P. Lombardi said that IRTN will be offering a combination football and soccer field, up to 90,000 square feet, at less than cost of a single field, with up to 10 years of financing available, to more than 35,000 High Schools and Colleges through out the country. P. Patrick McLaren, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO, also announced the Acquisition of Avery Sports Turf, of Rome, Georgia, the exclusive manufacturer of " LOMBARDI TURF ".
George Avery, a pioneer in the Synthetic Turf industry, since 1974, spoke at length about the distinct qualities of " LOMBARDI TURF " as the superior athletic surface in the world today.
McLaren also announced that the first "LOMBARDI TURF " field is presently under construction in the City of East Newark, NJ and will be completed on or before August 15,1999.
Lombardi closed the luncheon by thanking everyone for joining him in honoring the memory of his brother "Vince" who was as concerned about Player Safety as he was about "Winning the Game".
