Business Wire, July 9, 1999
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 9, 1999--
Byron Preiss Multimedia Company Inc. (Symbol OTCBB: RSVP) today announced the completion of the acquisition of VMailer.com Limited, a company who has developed a unique compression technology to be utilized for voice over the Internet.
Simultaneously the company announced a reverse 1:2.4 stock split, a change of name to VMailer.com and changes to the Board of Directors.
At the special shareholders meeting held yesterday in New York City the shareholders approved the issuance of 12,600,000 restricted 144 shares for the entire share of capital of Vmailer.com Limited.
The company's flagship product, V-Mail(TM), is a new and exciting way of communicating over the Internet. It sends real voice messages over the web by utilizing sate-of-the-art Blast DXC compression technology, which renders the product capable of being used on almost any PC which is connected to the Internet.
One of the most exciting features of V-Mail(TM) is its universal compatibility, which means that recipients don't need the product to receive V-Mail(TM) rather, through its ingenious encryption technology, the requisite software is encoded with the message to allow playback, and the recipient simply has to "Click and Listen". This means that any E mail browser can read V-Mail(TM).
In 1998 the Internet advertising market was $1.92 billion, an increase of 72% over the previous year. Banner advertising accounted for 56% and Sponsorship a further 30% of the spend(1). With purchasing on the Internet growing at a phenomenal rate, advertisers want to find the most effective way to get their message across. Using its revolutionary advertising innovation, Ping-Ads, V-Mail(TM) can help them do that by more accurately targeting advertisers' existing and potential customers. Ping-Ads technology works by allowing V-Mail(TM) to display banner advertisements both online and offline. Ping-Ads refreshment rates are also dramatically improved through their offline viewability, providing the functionality of online banners, even when not connected to the Web.
