Service in New York Metro Area
RemoteIT.com (www.RemoteIT.com), a subsidiary of Hertz Technology Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:HERZ), announced today that it will partner with Bell Atlantic to deliver Infospeed(TM) DSL services. This Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) service will initially be offered to business and residential customers in the New York metropolitan area for high-speed Internet access and Home-to-Work(TM) access for: email, file exchange and LAN-based applications.
RemoteIT(TM) will offer the Infospeed(TM) DSL services as a high-speed, inexpensive solution along with its SDSL and other always-on Internet communication technologies such as T-1 and ISDN.
The service is available in three flat-rate, unlimited access options at downstream speeds of: 640K (11 times the standard 56K modem), 1.6M (29 times the standard 56K modem) and 7.1M (128 times the standard 56K modem).
By partnering with Bell Atlantic, RemoteIT.com will be able to service New York area customers with an affordable, dependable Internet access option, and be in a position to quickly expand to other major metropolitan areas in the Northeast Bell Atlantic area, such as Washington DC, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Massachusetts.
"Now, with our Bell Atlantic and NorthPoint(TM) DSL partnerships, we can offer an end-to-end, multi-site, virtual private network that will allow high throughput at a greatly reduced cost per remote location," said Alan Cooper, CIO of RemoteIT.com. "Some applications of this technology would include RemoteIT's Thin VPN(TM) and other remote and telecommuting services such as remote LAN support, remote back-up, remote network management and videoconferencing."
