CATSKILL, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 28, 1999--
Greene County Bancorp, Inc., the holding company of The Bank of Greene County, today announced its shares of common stock had been approved for listing on the NASDAQ "SmallCap" market. J. Bruce Whittaker, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, stated, "We are very pleased with our new listing. We anticipate that our listing on NASDAQ will increase the visibility of Greene County Bancorp in the investment community. Our goal is to increase the liquidity of our common stock and make our common stock a more attractive investment for existing and prospective stockholders."
The company anticipates the NASDAQ listing will be effective June 30, 1999. The Company's common stock will trade under the symbol GCBC.
Greene County Bancorp, Inc. is currently traded on the OTC bulletin board under the symbol GCBC. At March 31, 1999, the Company had total assets of $151.0 million.
