Corel Introduces Toll-Free Number for Technical Support Services: Fax on Demand and IVAN now available at 1-877-42-COREL

OTTAWA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 29, 1999--

Corel Corporation (Nasdaq:CORL)(TSE:COR) today introduced a toll-free number for its Fax on Demand and IVAN (Interactive Voice Answering Network) services.

Previously, customers from all across North America had to call Ottawa to access these services, and each service had its own telephone number. Now, both services can be reached toll-free at 1-877-42-COREL.

Fax on Demand allows customers to call the toll-free line and request a document to assist in answering their technical questions. Customers review an index of available documents and choose, by number, the document they wish to receive by fax. IVAN allows customers to select the product they want and hear information on topics such as Common Issues and Tips & Tricks.

"We wanted to make this type of information as accessible to our customers as possible," said Jeffery Bennett, director of technical services at Corel. "Along with the telephone and fax information, customers can also access free support from the Support section of the Corel Web site."

By going to www.corel.com/support/index.htm customers can access online technical documents and post free messages in one of the Corel Newsgroups, to get technical responses, when possible, from Corel's C_Tech volunteers. C_Tech volunteers are knowledgeable Corel software users who volunteer their time to provide free on-line technical support to other Corel users.

Customers who need additional support that is not available on the toll-free line or on the Corel Web site can call the Corel Classic Support or Priority Support lines. Classic Support, for people who have recently purchased a Corel product, offers technical understanding of new product features and help with basic installation and configuration issues. Priority Support is a fee-based service for individual users and businesses that require further help from technicians. Priority Support can be purchased by the minute, incident or on a term basis. Information on the different levels of support can also be found at the Support section of the Corel Web site.

Currently, when people access Classic or Priority Support they call a number specific to their product. Corel has recognized that these different telephone numbers can be confusing, and in August, plans to offer one number for Classic Support and one number for Priority Support.
