FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 1999--
MARGI Systems, Inc. has launched its popular DVD-to-Go product for the Windows NT 4.0 platform. DVD-to-Go on NT 4.0, compatible with IBM ThinkPad models 600, 600E and 570, now provides mobile NT 4.0 users the power to create persuasive multimedia presentations and watch full resolution DVD.
A ThinkPad Proven product, DVD-to-Go is a PC Card that decodes full color, full-motion video (30 fps) along with Dolby(R) Digital Surround Sound. DVD-to-Go pioneers the concept of NT 4.0 as a multimedia platform, allowing ThinkPad mobile NT 4.0 users to reap the benefits of DVD-to-Go and other high-performance digital audio/video technologies.
Before DVD-to-Go on NT 4.0, mobile NT 4.0 users were limited to MPEG-1 video and analog stereo output. DVD-to-Go offers a solution for mobile NT 4.0 users to play MPEG-2 video, Dolby Digital (AC3) audio and CSS encrypted media.
Other benefits using DVD-to-Go include high performance video resolution at 720 x 480 NTSC or 720 x 576 PAL (16 million colors), TV-out, MPEG-1 compatibility, sharp slow motion, freeze-frame video and a multiple camera angle option. It is easy to use and allows for multitasking capability, without using much of the CPU. In addition, the same DVD-to-Go card can be used in more than one notebook. For the latest in cross platform compatibility, visit MARGI's web site, www.margi.com.
"Windows NT is now a popular operating system for many in business computing," said Shrikant Acharya, president, MARGI Systems. "As applications grow for advanced multimedia, finding a solution for the large NT 4.0 market is imperative. Our success in developing a NT 4.0 compatible driver for DVD-to-Go will allow anyone-from home users to IBM business executives and IT professionals-to finally experience both performance and exceptional multimedia."
Besides NT 4.0, DVD-to-Go has driver support for Windows 95 and Windows 98. DVD-to-Go's GUI application layer interface is supported for the DVD Navigator (Player), Video CD 2.0 and multiple zoomed video notebooks.
DVD-to-Go can be purchased through Ingram Micro, the world's largest distributor of computer products, SKU no. 782101. Contact 800.456.8000 or www.ingrammicro.com. The NT 4.0 driver upgrade is only available at MARGI Systems, www.margi.com.
