TRW-Vinnell Awarded a $118 Million Overseas Base Maintenance Contract by U.S. Air Force Europe

The U.S. Air Force Europe (USAFE) selected Vinnell Corporation, a subsidiary of TRW Inc. (NYSE: TRW), to manage its $118 million Turkey Base Maintenance Contract (TBMC).

TRW-Vinnell will provide operations and maintenance support at USAFE's bases in Incirlik, Ankara, and Izmir, Turkey. Scheduled to begin July 1, 1999, work on the contract will be performed by Vinnell-Brown & Root (VBR), a joint venture of TRW-Vinnell and the Houston, Texas-based Brown & Root Services. The contract is expected to run through September 2003.

Under the terms of the contract, VBR will provide civil engineering, base services, vehicle management and maintenance, supply, traffic management, utilities, fire protection, and communications.
