JAWS Technologies Acquires International Intellectual Property Rights and Trade Marks for XMAIL from British Telecom
Business Wire, June 9, 1999
CALGARY, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 9, 1999--
JAWS Technologies Inc. (OTC BB:JAWZ) a provider of the best in information security technologies and practices, announced today that the company has acquired the intellectual property rights and trade marks for XMAIL. JAWS purchased the rights to the fully registered XMAIL name from British Telecom for an undisclosed amount.
"The XMAIL brand and international trade mark was important to the release of our world mass market product JAWS XMAIL. Consistent with the theme of this product `Trust No One', this powerful email security and encryption product needed an international name and brand that will be recognizable for years to come," states Robert Kubbernus, CEO, JAWS Technologies Inc. "British Telecom believed in our approach and understood the importance of this initiative allowing JAWS to acquire the rights from them. Its one thing to have an incredibly strong or powerful product but to also control an international brand name helps ensure market ownership."
JAWS XMAIL is a powerful email encryption solution addressing the vulnerabilities of insecure email transactions. The JAWS XMAIL solution is a unique combination of strong encryption technology (4096 bit) integrated with enhanced certificate management to create secure email messaging. The official product launch of JAWS XMAIL is June 9, 1999.
