LearningByte International Announces Agreement With Northwest Airlines to Develop Computer Based Training
Business Wire, March 1, 1999
MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 1, 1999--LearningByte International, a leading developer of customized web based training solutions, today announced an agreement with Northwest Airlines to develop computer based training for the airline's Reservations Sales division. This is the second large contract awarded to LearningByte International by the airline. The first contract, seven courses for Northwest's Ground Operations division, was awarded in June of 1998.
The Reservations Sales courseware will provide initial and ongoing training for Northwest Reservations Sales agents in nine Reservations offices located throughout the continental U.S. The courseware will simulate ResNet, the primary application for this division, from the agent's desktop. In addition to teaching technical skills for ResNet, the training will also cover customer service skills and general information.
"We were looking to improve the effectiveness and consistency of our training across many locations. Cross platform capability and the ability to easily change course content were also key requirements," says Joseph Kalkman, Director of Reservations Sales at Northwest Airlines. "We feel LearningByte International's solution is an excellent choice for the Reservations Sales division. It meets our technical requirements and promises to be a key factor in helping us achieve our objectives and improve training."
"We are pleased that our relationship with Northwest Airlines is expanding and look forward to helping them continue to develop training and training standards across their enterprise," says Kay Christianson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at LearningByte International. "Because our solutions are designed with reuse in mind, Northwest will realize significant benefits from the initial Ground Operations project as well as our experience in system simulation and call center training."
LearningByte International develops customized web based training and online learning solutions that are deployed across organizations' existing networks. The company combines sound instructional design and Java-based multimedia technology to provide a rich, interactive learning environment -- designed specifically for online deployment via the Internet, intranet, LAN, WAN, CD-ROM or any combination.
