IHS Group Appoints Executive Team to Lead Energy Division's Information, Data Management, and Economics and Consulting Initiatives

DENVER--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 10, 1999--Leading information database publisher Information Handling Services Group Inc. (IHS Group) announced today several key management appointments in its energy division, IHS Energy Group.
Dave Noel has been appointed CEO of IHS Energy's information business, Keith Neal has been appointed CEO of data management services, and Susan Whitbread has been appointed CEO of the economics and consulting business. These appointments will create an organization with a streamlined, focused management team to lead IHS Energy's worldwide operations and better serve its customers.
IHS Energy Group was formed in 1998, the result of several strategic acquisitions by IHS Group since 1996, and now includes six companies with operations worldwide. The IHS Energy Group family of companies includes Petroleum Information/Dwights (PI/Dwights), Petroconsultants, Integrated Exploration and Development Services (IEDS), MAI Consultants, (PI) ERICO and Data Logic Services.

Noel, based in Denver, is CEO of the worldwide information business and will lead the efforts to integrate and unify the IHS Energy Group companies (PI/Dwights, Petroconsultants, IEDS, and IHS Energy Canada) that produce databases, information services and software to serve the exploration and production information needs of customers. Previously, Noel was executive vice president of PI/Dwights and then president of worldwide technology and product development for PI/Dwights and Petroconsultants.
Neal, based in the UK, is CEO of data management services and will lead the companies (ERICO and Data Logic) responsible for creating custom data management solutions, providing a wider range of services and assisting oil and gas customers as they outsource data management functions. Previously, Neal was managing director of PI/Dwight's UK subsidiary and then executive vice president of PI/Dwights and Petroconsultants' sales and marketing outside of North America.
Whitbread, based in the UK, is CEO of IHS Energy's economic and consulting group and will lead the efforts to expand the data and consulting capabilities for the companies that provide economics, cost, and engineering data, software, and analysis, and related consulting. These companies include MAI Consultants and Petroconsultant's Economics and Policy Analysis Group.
