Tilden Associates, Inc. Signs Smithtown, Long Island Lease and Franchisee For New Facility

GARDEN CITY, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 11, 1999--Tilden Associates, Inc. (OTC BB:TLDN) operating under the trade name of Tilden for Brakes Car Care Centers, today announced it has signed a high-visibility lease at 974 Jericho Turnpike, Smithtown, N.Y. for the latest Car Care Center facility in the company's expansion program in 10 states including Florida.
The Smithtown all-new facility will be located in a building currently under construction, scheduled to be open in 30 days. It will be a 5-bay state-of-the-art Tilden Car Care Center offering total car and truck services with full diagnostic and repair equipment.
The franchisee for the new facility is Peter Galante who is well established in the area, having owned his own repair shop for the past decade, located just five miles away. Enthusiastic about opening in the new location, Galante observed, "This automotive repair operation will be considerably enhanced with the name recognition and support of the leading organization in this field, Tilden, along with the tow business and body shop also in the new building, Also, the location is well situated between Tilden's Huntington and Centereach locations, helping with advertising and name recognition on the North Shore of Suffolk County."
Tilden for Brakes Car Care Centers have served millions of automobile owners since the Tilden family founded the company in 1923. While Tilden initially built its reputation on brakes in the New York market, Tilden currently has over 50 locations nationally which offer full auto servicing utilizing state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, including tire brakes, tune-ups, wheel alignment, shocks/struts, air conditioning, and other services, at a time when most niche repair shops are limited to specific auto repairs.
