Business Wire, March 15, 1999

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 15, 1999--FlashPoint Technology Inc. today announced that Eastman Kodak (NYSE:EK) will ship its newest digital camera based on FlashPoint's Digita(TM) operating environment, the DC265. This new Kodak camera delivers improved performance and the ability to be customized through a series of newly introduced software applications. The DC265 joins an award-winning line of Digita-enabled intelligent imaging products, including Kodak's DC220 and DC260, Minolta's Dimage EX, and Epson's PrintOn photo printer.

"The DC265 sets new standards for digital camera performance. It features improved power-up time, takes up to three pictures per second, and has a live-view rate that's double the previous generation," said David Pratt, president and CEO of FlashPoint. "And the DC265 is more than just a great digital camera. Thanks to Digita's open software architecture, users can constantly add new features and capabilities to this powerful camera, personalizing the picture-taking experience and optimizing the camera for a variety of powerful business applications - all through software."

Digita FX(TM), the world's first in-camera image editor, represents a new generation of software applications that run directly inside all Digita-enabled cameras, including the Kodak DC265. Digita FX allows users to adjust images and apply special effects directly in the camera, bypassing the need for a PC.

New applications and Digita Scripts are available from FlashPoint and a growing number of independent software developers. These software products automate repetitive tasks, build web pages, guide the picture-taking process, deliver enhanced presentation capabilities, provide entertainment and games, enhance workflow and much more. Currently, FlashPoint has nearly 2,000 registered developers creating solutions for business and personal applications, including MetaCreations, Digitella, Techlogix, PictureWorks and Image Software.

"The DC265 is the next evolution in the Kodak and FlashPoint relationship," said Willy Shih, president of Kodak Digital and Applied Imaging. "This new solution offers superior resolution, faster boot times, and can be upgraded using Digita Scripts and applications to customize the camera for any application."
