in workstation vendors' next-generation systems
HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 17, 1999--
Intense3D(TM) announced today that its Wildcat(TM) 3D Graphics, is available from four of the industry's top five workstation vendors as a 3D graphics subsystem powering their latest Pentium(R) III Xeon(TM) processor-based workstations. The workstation line-up includes Compaq's Professional Workstation SP700 (see separate release, March 17); Dell's Precision Workstation 610; IBM's IntelliStation Z Pro; and Intergraph Computer Systems' TDZ(R) 2000 GX1 ViZual Workstation. In addition, workstation vendors, Intergraph Computer Systems and IBM are showcasing Wildcat 4000 graphics at Intel(R)'s Pentium III Xeon launch events today in San Francisco and New York and on March 18 at CeBIT in Hannover, Germany.
The selection of Intense3D's Wildcat 3D Graphics Technology by these leading, worldwide workstation vendors is a testament to Intense3D Wildcat's revolutionary performance and cost-effectiveness. Intense3D's Wildcat 3D Graphics enables workstation vendors to deliver systems with phenomenal performance and unprecedented affordability by leveraging the 3 GFLOPS of floating-point performance of the Wildcat 3D geometry accelerator to offload the host processor--thus allowing the application to utilize all of the increased performance offered by the new Intel Pentium III Xeon processors. The result is a new level of computing power for creative and technical professionals using MCAD, animation, visual simulation, publishing and prepress, digital media, and other graphics-intensive applications.
"The new performance levels achieved from Intel's Pentium III Xeon processor coupled with our geometry-accelerated Wildcat 3D Graphics Technology, maximizes productivity for end users. Our strategy of enabling additional processing power through cost-effective graphics chip technology allows the applications to take full advantage of Intel's increasingly powerful processors," said Bill Rick, vice president, sales and marketing, Intense3D. "In the mid-to-high-end of the workstation market, where performance is everything, users continue to tell us application performance is key to their success. Intense3D will continue to embrace its historic trend of offloading the processors wherever possible in this performance-hungry workstation market."
Wildcat 3D graphics are also available in Pentium III and Pentium II processor-based systems from these workstation vendors.
