The HP NetServer E 60 is expected to begin shipping in April, with estimated U.S. street prices beginning as low as $1,550(1). Additional details are available on the Web at http://www.hp.com/go/netserver.
> Disaster Recovery Saves Data and CashAccording to research done at the University of Texas, more than 90 percent of companies that suffer catastrophic data failure go out of business within two years. To help customers avoid crippling data loss, HP integrates the HP NetServer E 60 system and the HP SureStore T20Xi tape drive, and provides a full software-based disaster-recovery solution at no extra charge.
In contrast, other system vendors do not offer integrated back-up solutions. When purchased separately, disaster-recovery solutions can cost up to $2,000 (U.S.), inflating the cost of an SMB server solution to $5,000 or higher.
HP Empowers the Channel
HP is offering benefits to resellers through the following three initiatives designed to drive sales and simplify marketing:
-- HP reseller support services -- make it easy for resellers
to develop their own service and support business, through
new "business builders" which help resellers plan and deploy
remote support services.
-- HP eFinance -- an Internet-based program that gives
resellers a faster and more convenient way to develop
financing proposals easily and to deliver financing
solutions to SMB customers quickly.
-- HP ProfitEngine -- available through HP's Spotlight program,
provides resellers with comprehensive marketing materials to
develop professional multiproduct sales proposals, and to
implement marketing activities such as direct mail,
advertising and seminars cost-effectively.
"The HP ProfitEngine business-proposal generator provides a time-effective way to create a professional proposal, which allows me more time to work on solutions for our clients, rather than searching for product specs and formatting documents," said Paul Wilcox, regional account manager for TechPower Solutions, Inc.
