Users To Stay Connected To Their Office Email

Recognized as a dynamic new product for helping to enhance enterprise email capabilities, Motorola's Email VClient(TM) software has won the Lotus Notes & Domino Advisor 1999 Gold Editor's Choice Award.

Developed by Motorola's Platform Software Division, Motorola's Email VClient software offers PageWriter(TM) 2000 two-way pager users wireless access to their Lotus(R) Notes Mail(R) software. Email VClient is also compatible with other email servers utilizing the IMAP4 mail transport, including Netscape(R) Mail, Microsoft Exchange(R) Server and Alta Vista(R) Mail.

Motorola's PageWriter 2000 two-way pager helps enable users to communicate with information services and applications, other one- and two-way pagers, fax machines and Internet email addresses via a built-in miniature QWERTY keyboard.(a)

"We're pleased that a leading software publication like Lotus Notes & Domino Advisor has recognized the impact that Email VClient can have on the daily lives of mobile professionals," stated Amy Kabcenell, Director, Distribution Marketing, PCS Americas Paging Operations, Motorola. "The face of communications continues to change for businesses and we are making it a top priority to offer cost-effective solutions that help enable employees to access important information and receive messages on the go."

Powered by Motorola's FLEX(TM) Messaging Server software, Email VClient software gives PageWriter 2000 two-way pager users the convenience of accessing their enterprise-based mail server from the road. The ability to originate, receive, forward email messages, as well as filter messages by sender, subject or content, helps provide PageWriter 2000 two-way pager users with enhanced flexibility * making them more accessible and productive.

The FLEX Messaging Server platform helps enable personalized mobile messaging applications, such as Email VClient for Notes Mail software, by helping to provide a unique, configurable interface to a wide variety of information sources -- such as Internet, intranet and legacy systems -- managed by the user.

Client applications can utilize the functionality available in the server platform to set and modify server based email message filter options, control which messages are sent to the PageWriter 2000 two-way pager and re-direct delivery of messages on the server to alternate device types. This ability to set filtering options helps allow users to minimize monthly network service charges and increase their productivity.

Motorola's Platform Software Division is a Lotus Qualified Business Partner and is expected to exhibit Email VClient software in most of the U.S. cities during Lotus' Super Human Software tour beginning April 6, 1999 in Washington, DC. In addition, Motorola expects Internet Service Providers to offer Email VClient software support to their users.
