Taylor Publishing Selects the American School Directory to Offer Internet Ordering and Payment System for High School Yearbooks

Business Wire, March 23, 1999

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 23, 1999--Taylor Publishing Company, a subsidiary of Insilco Corporation, Dublin, Ohio, and a leading publisher of school yearbooks, has teamed with the American School Directory, (ASD) the leading payment processing company in the K-12 school market, to make online yearbook ordering and payment available at individual school Web Sites.

This fall, parents, students and teachers will enjoy the convenience and security of credit card payment from home, work or school through an Internet connected computer. Yearbooks can be ordered in the Online Payment Center of a school's ASD Web Site located at www.asd.com on the World Wide Web. Orders may also be placed at the Taylor Web Site located at www.taylorpub.com.

Traditional means of ordering yearbooks, such as mail order and in-school collection, will still be available. The Online Payment Center provides another option for parents to place orders and make payments while freeing schools from the hassle of collecting and handling money. Parents can view the status of their child's account anytime with password-protected online reports, and the school can go online with a password to view current order and payment reports.

Keith Lewis, Vice President of Marketing with Taylor Publishing Company adds, "This new convenient ordering process is a great added value to an already highly successful book sales promotion. The use of the American School Directory's Online Payment Center extends advanced technology into yearbook ordering and payment functions as well."

"Offering an online ordering and payment center at the school Web Site is a first for this industry. Taylor has always been a pioneer in the use of technology in school yearbook publishing, and using the ASD Online Payment Center is another example of their leadership in this area," said Tom Crook, CEO of the American School Directory.
