Legato Systems Announces Industry-Exclusive Cluster-Aware Failover of Backup and Recovery Services for SAP R/3 Solutions On Oracle Databases

(NASDAQ: LGTO), a leader in the enterprise storage management software market, today announced the availability of Legato NetWorker BusinesSuite Module 1.3 for SAP(TM) R/3(R) running on Oracle databases. Building on Legato's strengths of high availability and scalability, the new release teams with Legato NetWorker 5.5 Power Edition to provide one of the industry's only solutions for Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Enterprise Edition (MSCS) clusters with failover of backup and recovery services for SAP R/3 data on Oracle databases. SAP customers can be confident of the new solution because SAP has tested and certified the interface for Legato NetWorker BusinesSuite Module 1.3 for SAP R/3 Release 4.0.
The new Legato NetWorker BusinesSuite Module also provides Compaq TruCluster failover of backup and recovery services for the SAP R/3 solution on Oracle database on Compaq's Digital UNIX platform. With these added capabilities, this release demonstrates Legato's continued commitment to multi-platform support and high availability technical leadership with clustering for Windows NT and Digital UNIX.
