Destia Communications Selects MGTS Sentinel, Tekelec's SS7 Surveillance and Monitoring System

MORRISVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 25, 1999--Tekelec (Nasdaq: TKLC) announced today that Destia Communications, Inc., formerly known as Econophone, has selected Tekelec's MGTS Sentinel for surveillance, monitoring, and maintenance of its Signaling System 7 network. Based in Paramus, N.J., Destia Communications is an international, facilities-based telecommunications company.
Destia Communications is deploying MGTS Sentinel at two domestic locations (Chicago, Ill., and Dallas, Texas) and two international locations (Berlin and Frankfurt, Germany) to cover its network surveillance and diagnostic requirements.
According to Tom Karins, engineering manager, Destia Communications, "Tekelec's MGTS Sentinel enables us to monitor our entire SS7 network from a single platform. It also provides tools for proactive testing, allowing us to identify and correct network problems upstream."
