ObjectSpace Brings Its Vision and Distributed-Computing-Solutions Expertise to the Enterprise Integration Standards Council

Business Wire, March 30, 1999

DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 30, 1999--ObjectSpace Inc., a leading supplier of distributed-computing solutions for the enterprise, Tuesday announced at the Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) Conference held in Chicago, that it will join EAI market leaders in the creation of the Enterprise Integration Standards Council (EISC).

With the onset of business forces such as globalization, e-commerce, supply-chain integration and deregulation, the demand for EAI has never been greater. According to International Data Corp., the EAI market is expected to approach $1 billion in products and services by the year 2000.

The purpose of the EISC is to identify the scope of business forces that are shaping the enterprise-integration market, identify business problems that enterprise integration is intended to solve, establish a common definition of enterprise integration and define enterprise-integration terminology.

"ObjectSpace's Enterprise Solutions team and our understanding of advanced computing solutions and other leading technologies such as Java(tm) will be key to our role within the EISC," said David Norris, president, chief executive officer and co-founder of ObjectSpace.

"Our participation on the council will help propel the industry forward as we apply our knowledge and expertise in standards-neutral, distributed-computing technology to fulfill the objectives of the council."

The EISC has the opportunity to shape the direction of the EAI industry. It is committed to providing guidance to other standard bodies so that the council's efforts complement the task of enterprise integration and specifying desirable alternatives or extensions.

"Since the inception of our company, the use of industry standards and the benefits this brings to our customers has been at the core of our technical strategy," said Graham Glass, chief technology officer, chairman and co-founder of ObjectSpace. "We look forward to sharing our expertise and making a contribution."
