Datawatch Offers Premier Multidimensional Analysis Tool as an Optional Extension to Monarch

WILMINGTON, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 8, 1999--
DI-Diver from Dimensional Insight brings new reporting and
visualization capabilities to Monarch 4.0 and Monarch/ES Enterprise
Reporting Solution
Datawatch Corporation (NASDAQ:DWCH), a leading provider of Enterprise Reporting and Support Center software, today announced that it will offer DI-Diver from Dimensional Insight as an optional extension to its Monarch and Monarch/ES products. DI-Diver makes it easy for Monarch users to explore and visualize report data.
"Monarch is already the most powerful and widely-used tool for extracting and analyzing data contained in reports," said Marc Peterson, senior vice president of North American operations at Datawatch. "DI-Diver brings important new analytical features to Monarch while maintaining our ease-of-use."
With DI-Diver, users can "dive" into report data to obtain successively more detailed levels of information. The "diving" analogy highlights the difference between DI-Diver and other analysis and reporting tools. Most tools let users define a "drill-down" path into their data. This is fine if they know what they are looking for but can be frustrating if they don't. DI-Diver's unique "dive-anywhere" approach lets users explore report data without predetermined assumptions about what trends or factors they are looking for.
When a user clicks the "dive" button on the Monarch toolbar, DI-Diver builds a special index that cross-tabulates report data on every possible dimension. This lets users instantly view, pivot and explore crosstab summaries that reveal patterns and relationships in their data.
DI-Diver relies on innovative charting and geographic mapping features to empower the exploration process. Users can interact with charts and maps as they refine their analyses. For example, a user might choose to visualize sales data on a scatter chart that shows forecasted sales versus actual sales for each salesperson. Each salesperson would be represented as a point on the scatter chart. In order to select the top-performing salespeople, the user would simply encircle the appropriate points on the chart using DI-Diver's lasso cursor.
The special version of DI-Diver that integrates with Monarch 4.0 and Monarch/ES is available now, directly from Datawatch and its resellers. A single user license is priced at $499. For more information, visit the Datawatch web site at www.datawatch.com.
