New CTO Added to Interleaf Management Team; Former Lotus Fellow Strengthens Management Team

Interleaf, Inc. (NASDAQ:LEAF), today announced the appointment of Barry Briggs to the newly created role of Chief Technology Officer.

Barry Briggs joins Interleaf after 11 years with Lotus Development Corporation, a worldwide leader in desktop and network applications, where he was most recently a Lotus Fellow, the company's highest technical rank. At Lotus, Barry is credited with the invention of Lotus(R) e-Suite(TM), one of the first Java-based products on the market; with architecting Lotus Notes/Domino(R) enterprise integration strategy; and as the Chief Architect for the Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet program, the best-selling application of its time. Prior to Lotus, Barry held various positions at Digital Equipment Corporation and Nixdorf Computers Inc., among others.
