BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 24, 1999--

Dynamo(R) Product Suite Enables One of Nation's

Largest Financial Services Firms to Deliver Personalized Features,

Handle Increased Traffic Load

Art Technology Group, Inc. (ATG), developers of e-commerce and online personalization software, today announced that KeyCorp (NYSE:KEY), one of the nation's largest financial services companies, has chosen ATG's Dynamo(tm) product suite as its e-commerce solution to power its new, enhanced Web site at www.key.com. KeyCorp plans to use this site upgrade to greatly expand its online banking offerings and to better serve the ever-changing needs of its customers.

The full-service banking and financial site is being re-engineered on the Dynamo product suite to support Key's growing online e-commerce community, replacing an existing system the company had outgrown. The new site will be designed to unify all of KeyCorp's offerings, giving customers personalized access to a wide variety of financial services, resources and e-commerce opportunities. The key.com site will be built to accommodate increased traffic flow during peak loads and will feature a scalable architecture that can be adapted to meet future needs.

"We recognize the value of creating and maintaining customer relationships, and our aim with this new site is to improve the customer experience online," said Allen J. Gula, Jr., Group Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at KeyCorp. "ATG's Dynamo gives us a solid and reliable e-commerce foundation on which to deliver reliable, customized financial services and support to our customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week. With Dynamo, we have the ability to support the full complement of our online banking services.

The flexibility of ATG's architecture means that KeyCorp can leverage its established IT infrastructure which features a four-channel real-time link for simultaneous transactions between Web, branch, phone, and ATM. By augmenting these capabilities with ATG's Dynamo Personalization Server, KeyCorp can perform complex customer analysis such as cross-selling and customer retention and profitability.

"We are pleased that KeyCorp has made the commitment to servicing its customers using the Dynamo solution," said Jeet Singh, president and CEO of ATG. "As the banking industry consolidates through mergers and acquisitions, one key differentiator will be how they manage their customer relationships. KeyCorp is looking ahead by investing in these relationships now."

The site is expected to launch this summer.
