Best Software Expands Management Team with Key Appointments in Sales, Marketing and Business Development

Best Software, Inc.(NASDAQ:BEST), a leading provider of corporate resource management solutions, today announced several senior-level appointments and promotions in support of its continued strong growth and new product development initiatives.
M. Curtis Anderson was named vice president, professional services and presales, for the Best! Imperativ Analytics(TM) product line. Anderson joined the company as a result of its March 1999 acquisition of OmniVista Software Corporation, Peninsula, Ohio, where he was co-founder and executive vice president of sales and professional services. Prior to joining OmniVista, he was a founding principal at SiGMA Consulting, LLC, in Rochester, NY, and a manager with the management consulting division at KPMG. Anderson is a CPA and has a degree in Accounting from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Jan Engram was promoted to vice president, strategic alliances. Engram joined Best Software in November 1991 as channel program manager and also served as regional sales director for the south-central region before being named director of strategic alliances in July 1998. She previously worked as an auditor for Ernst & Whinney, as a mid-market accounting systems consultant for a regional CPA firm and as a sales manager for Tecmar and Western Digital. Engram is a CPA and has a degree in accounting from Pennsylvania State University.
James Farver was promoted to vice president, sales and partner programs. Farver will focus on the company's VAR, CPA and telesales channels for its full portfolio of corporate resource management solutions, which include FAS(TM), Abra Suite(R) and the Best! Imperativ product line. Previously, he served as assistant corporate controller, CPA relations manager and, most recently, director of business partner sales. Prior to joining Best Software in 1993, he was a senior consultant for the Emerging Business Services Group of Deloitte & Touche. He is a CPA and graduate of Virginia Tech.
Himanshu Palsule was promoted to general manager of the Asset Products Group and will be responsible for the product management and development functions of Best Software's family of fixed asset management products. Previously, as vice president of development, Palsule introduced the Best! Imperativ Asset Accounting(TM) product. Prior to joining Best Software in 1997, he was vice president of product development at Open Systems, Inc., in Minnesota, where he was responsible for developing and launching their suite of client/server financial applications. He has degrees in computer science and software engineering from the University of Minnesota.
In related news, Brian K. Muys was named director of public relations and will oversee all media and industry analyst relations. Prior to joining Best Software, he was senior manager of public relations for Concert Communications Services, the AT&T/British Telecommunications global joint venture based in Reston Va., and manager of corporate communications for PSINet, Herndon, Va. He is a graduate of Dickinson College and American University's Kogod School of Business Administration.
