Steve Hix, Al Patz Join Lightware Senior Leadership Team

Lightware Inc., a leading supplier of ultraportable multimedia projection systems, Thursday announced that Steve Hix and Al Patz, two of the industry's pioneers, will join the company's senior leadership team.

Hix will serve as chairman of the board and chief executive officer responsible for technology deployment and strategic alliances, while Patz joins as president and chief operating officer overseeing day-to-day operations. Hix and Patz will assume the management responsibilities from Mark Reed, interim CEO of Lightware, and principal of High Ground Partners LLC.

Hix, along with Gulick, was one of the original founders of In Focus Systems, a long-time industry leader in multimedia projection systems, where he served as chairman, CEO and president for 10 years. Hix later left In Focus to launch SARIF Inc., a polysilicon LCD fabrication company located in Vancouver, Wash.

Patz is a founding investor in Lightware and served as president during the company's startup phase. Patz has also served as Lightware's chief financial officer.

Hix and Patz will begin their assignments at Lightware during April. Reed will remain at Lightware during a short transition period, and then return full time to High Ground.
