Mort Marcus Named Executive Vice President, Sales and Development for go.com

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 10, 1999--
Mort Marcus has been named executive vice president, sales and development for go.com, it was announced today by Steve Bornstein, chairman of Disney's Buena Vista Internet Group (BVIG).
The appointment will be effective Nov. 17, when Disney's previously announced deal to acquire Infoseek Corp. is expected to close.
Marcus will be responsible for advertising and sponsorship sales and new business development activities across go.com, including both the go.com portal and the vertical sites, such as ABC.com, ABCNEWS.com, Disney.com, Family.com and ESPN.com. Marcus will report to Bornstein.
Marcus previously was the president of Buena Vista Television (BVT), the domestic television distribution division of The Walt Disney Company. While there, he oversaw all of BVT's programming, sales and marketing efforts, as well as Pay-Per-View and Pay TV. Under his leadership, BVT became a powerhouse in the syndication, cable, network and Pay-Per-View businesses, setting a precedent for innovative programming and campaigns.

Prior to joining Buena Vista Television, Marcus was president of Debmar Studios, a production and distribution company in which Disney held an equity interest. He also served as senior vice president, sales for BVT for three years until 1992. Prior to joining Disney in 1989, Marcus served as president of the Telecommunications business at Qintex Entertainment for three years.
Other endeavors in the field of television include roles as president at Colex, and vice president of TV sales at the Samuel Goldwyn Company.
Marcus graduated from San Diego State University with a B.A. in radio/television/film.
