Sony Chooses Retrospect Backup Software; All New Sony Spressa CD-RW Drives Include Retrospect

Business Wire, Nov 11, 1999

ORINDA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 11, 1999--

Dantz Development Corporation announced today that Sony has replaced Veritas' (Nasdaq:VRTS) Backup Exec with Dantz's Retrospect(R) Desktop Backup software for inclusion with all Sony Spressa(TM) CD-RW drives sold in the United States.

By bundling Retrospect, Sony turns every Spressa CD-RW drive into a complete backup solution.

Retrospect is Better Backup

Easy to set up and simple to use, Retrospect Desktop Backup gets the most out of every storage device to provide reliable protection against data loss.

Unlike Veritas' Backup Exec, Retrospect simplifies installation by automatically loading customized hardware drivers as well as performing incremental backups correctly to multiple backup sets. (Maintaining multiple backup sets, each one complete, is the key to true data security.)

Restoring incremental backups with other backup software can be a chore. Retrospect is different. Retrospect stores a snapshot of the hard disk as it was during the last backup and efficiently copies just the files needed for a full restore -- all in a single pass.

Other Backup Software Available

In addition to Retrospect Desktop Backup, Dantz Development Corporation offers Retrospect Workgroup Backup and Retrospect Server Backup. For more information on Dantz Development Corporation or any of Dantz's quality backup software products, visit www.dantz.com.

To get started, you need to know what you really want from work, then orient your political moves toward those goals. It all starts with strong relationships and helping others; those people in return make up the support system that helps you realize your goals. Here’s how it’s done.
