Michael G. Hron Named General Counsel for Telephone and Data Systems, Inc

Michael G. Hron, a partner at Sidley & Austin has been named General Counsel for Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. ("TDS"), a Chicago-based company which is a leading supplier of cellular, local telephone and personal communications services. In his new position Mr. Hron will be responsible for all legal matters of TDS and its majority-owned subsidiaries. Mr. Hron has served as Secretary of TDS since February 1979 and will act as an Assistant Secretary of the Company in the future.

Mr. Hron will continue to practice corporate and securities law in Sidley's Chicago office. He is a member of the Illinois State and American Bar Associations (Section on Taxation, Real Property, Probate and Trust Law and Business Law). He holds a J.D. from Columbia University and a B.A. from Valparaiso University.
