Klipsch, LLC And Themescapes Incorporated Join Forces to Create Internet Gaming Competition Promoting First THX-Certified PC Speakers

INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 1999--

Klipsch, LLC, a leading audio technologies company, announced today that it has partnered with digital Internet solutions company Themescapes Incorporated (OTCBB:THEM) to launch GameTheater.com, a real-time PC gaming competition featuring LucasArts Entertainment's StarWars Episode I Racer game.

Powered by Themescape's New Media Delivery System (NMDS) software interface, the competition promotes the new Klipsch ProMedia v.2-400, the first and only THX(r)-Certified multimedia speaker system available on the market. LucasArts Entertainment, Lucasfilm THX(r) and Compaq are supplying games, wearables and computer hardware as prizes for the co-venture. GameTheater.com is the first web collaboration of its kind, bringing together five "best-in-class" brands for an Internet PC gaming site that captures a mass gaming audience.

According to Philip Cacayorin, President and CEO of Themescapes, the GameTheater.com sponsor web sites receive millions of visitors every month, which collectively represents an audience of gaming, PC and audio enthusiasts that is perfect for a high-performance product such as the Klipsch ProMedia v.2-400.

The competition will operate as follows: (Participants who already have the free software programs identified in steps one and two do not need to complete those steps.)

1. Download Internet explorer 4.0 and Flash 4 Plug-ins

2. Download Themescapes' NMDS Enabler for submitting game scores

3. Register and secure account name

4. Play LucasArts Entertainment's StarWars Episode I Racer game

(free demo available from GameTheater.com)

5. Hit "upload score" button

6. Check news pages on sponsor sites for contest standings

Gamers may play the Episode I Racer game as many times as they like and continue uploading their best scores. General play will continue from November 12 through Jan. 14, 2000. On January 15, the top ten pole positions holders will receive prizes and the pod racer with the best time will be awarded the GameTheater.com "ultimate gamer" title along with the grand prize -- a Compaq Presario 5700T with Klipsch ProMedia v.2-400 speakers. The second place pod racer wins a Klipsch ProMedia v.2-400 system and the other contestants will receive sponsor wearables.

GameTheater.com is currently available for competition among PC owners worldwide. Themescapes is developing interface software and proprietary product that will allow gamers using Mac, Sony Playstation II and Nintendo platforms to compete in these online events. Cacayorin said our goal is to create a common interactive interface, making live, online tournaments between gamers using any platform a reality.
