Forgotten Issue: The OTHER Y2K Crash

Business Wire, Nov 19, 1999

S. HACKENSACK, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 19, 1999--

The Aurora Group is preparing to release what it feels is a completely neglected Y2K necessity: a safe, effective hangover pill.

"On December 31, 1999, how many people will drink?" asks company spokesperson Jeff Mach. "And on January 1, 2000, how many people will wish they hadn't?"

Humor? Yes. But to Walter Siegordner, C.E.O. of the Aurora Group, it's very serious business. "The biggest problem most people have with hangover products is the fact that most are completely ineffective," says Siegordner. "So the problem then becomes, `How do I prove my product works?'"

To Siegordner, the answer was obvious. "We're headed for the biggest New Year's party in history. If there was ever a time to create a working hangover pill, this is it."

So what makes Aurora's product, Hangover Helper--Fight Back, different from all of its predecessors? For one thing, it's safe. Mach sites recent FDA concerns linking the combination of alcohol and painkillers to serious liver damage. He notes that many painkillers, such as Tylenol (TM), are now labeled with explicit warnings about alcohol interaction. "And yet," says Mach, "commercial `remedies', made specifically for use with alcohol, continue to be marketed with ingredients that can literally put you into a coma."

About Hangover Helper--Fight Back

Hangover Helper--Fight Back contains no painkillers at all. Instead, it is an extract of artichoke and sarsaparilla, which has been clinically proven to actually detoxify the liver. "Curing the discomfort isn't enough," Mach states firmly. "That hangover is a sign your body and your health have been damaged. You need to stop that damage before it can happen. And if you're going to drink, the only way to be safe is to detoxify. Or, as we like to put it, `Celebrate the healthy way--Hangover Helper.'"
