Snaz.com Combats Online Shopping Basket Abandonment in time for Black Friday
Business Wire, Nov 26, 1999
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 26, 1999--
Snaz.com is ready to combat one of the largest issues for online retailers this holiday season: shopping basket abandonment. According to Forrester Research, approximately 98% of online shoppers look but don't buy when visiting a retailer's site(1). Snaz.com's universal shopping basket gives consumers the option to window-shop a selection of retail sites and save items in personal lists instead of having to immediately buy them or alternatively lose the item in the browsing process.
Snaz.com integrates several shopping tools into one easy-to-use site that streamlines the shopping experience from browsing to buying and promotes effective window-shopping online. These tools include:
- one personal shopping cart that travels with you from site to
site
- access to the entire selection of the leading retail sites
- e-wallet service and one click purchase and express buy
- real time price and inventory updates
- storage of all items in personally made lists (private or shared)
- move and copy items within different lists
- web based, non-downloadable gives access to lists from any
computer (soon to include hand held devices)
- single user-name and password across all retailers
- email, automatic reminder service, integrated address book
"With more than 8 million consumers taking to the web this year for holiday shopping it is critical that simple tools exist to help the consumer save ideas in an organized, simple way without having to necessarily purchase the goods, says CEO Snaz.com Ravi Chachra.
"We are not in the business to change the way consumers shop, we want enhance existing consumer behavior and we do that through our shopping tools that allows the most effective way to window shop the web."
Snaz shoppers will have access to the top 50 merchants by this holiday season and the top 100 by early 2000.
