WTO/Seattle Host Organization Releases Updated Supporter List

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 5, 1999--
The WTO/Seattle Host Organization has released an updated list of financial supporters in preparation for the World Trade Organization ministerial conference to be held in Seattle November 29th through December 3rd, 1999.
The complete list of supporters appears below, by category. This information is also available on the Seattle Host Organization website www.wtoseattle.org.
The upcoming ministerial will be the largest trade event ever held in the United States and is expected to launch the "Seattle Round" of negotiations. Events of this kind that are held in the United States are primarily funded through private donations. The Seattle Host Organization has set a fundraising goal of $9.2 million for the Seattle meeting, which will involve some 3000 delegates and observers from 165 nations. The Seattle Host Organization is responsible for all logistics associated with the meeting, including transportation, accommodations, venues, events and support. It is also coordinating a series of educational programs and public forums for discussion of the WTO and global trade.
The WTO/Seattle Host Organization fundraising effort will continue in the month of November. All companies and organizations with an interest in international trade and a desire to support the Seattle meeting are encouraged to contact the Seattle Host Organization. -0-
