Interliant to Offer Microsoft Office Online Hosted Service; Leading ASP to Give Customers Access to MS Office 2000 Applications via Internet

PURCHASE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 9, 1999--
Interliant, Inc. (Nasdaq:INIT), a leading application service provider (ASP), today announced that it is participating in Microsoft Corporation's Office Online pilot program and has plans to offer Microsoft's desktop productivity suite over the Internet. As part of this strategic initiative, Interliant will deliver hosted, customized Office 2000 solutions, instant software updates and service releases, as well as allow customers to pay for services on a monthly basis.
In addition, Interliant's hosting of Office 2000 will provide small to medium-size businesses a new, pay-per-use option for familiar Office applications including, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Access, Microsoft FrontPage and Microsoft Outlook.
"Interliant's Office Online offering will enable customers to use the industry leading Office 2000 applications, rceive the latest product updates, and pay for these services on a monthly basis," said Steve Sinofsky, vice president of Office. "We're excited to be working with Interliant to provide Office 2000 to our customers over the Internet."
Interliant's plan to host Office 2000 services is the latest in a long line of Interliant services involving Microsoft technologies. These services include Microsoft NT hosting, FrontPage and Office extensions and other Microsoft-related application technologies. As a Microsoft Office Partner, Interliant is working with Microsoft to develop licensing and pricing guidelines for Office Online. The product will be rolled out to Interliant beta customers by the first quarter of 2000.
