BarPoint Expands Executive Management Team: Two from Symbol Technologies, 3Com to Head Business Development

BarPoint.com, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: BPNT), developer of a revolutionary new way of using the Internet to deliver product and comparative pricing information to consumers, today announced the appointment of two key additions to its executive management team.

Robert M. Whittle, formerly a senior manager at Symbol Technologies, Inc., the leading producer of barcode hardware, joins as senior vice president, business development.

David Novak, formerly alliance relations manager with the Palm Computing unit of 3Com Corporation, joins as director, business development.

BarPoint.com has strong alliances with Symbol Technologies and Palm Computing and worked closely with Mr. Whittle and Mr. Novak in cultivating these relationships. Leigh Rothschild, chairman and chief executive officer of BarPoint.com, said their expertise will prove very valuable as BarPoint.com prepares to launch its pioneering new service. This service will enable shoppers to instantly access, via the Internet, a database of product-specific information such as comparative pricing data using the UPC barcodes of consumer products and wired and wireless communications devices such as palm computers.

Mr. Whittle has been in technology, marketing and business positions in the computer industry for the past 20 years. At Symbol, he was responsible for marketing, product management, and business development of mobile device software including the Palm product line, which includes the popular SPT 1500 model. Earlier he was with Novell and with IBM, where he was named National Rookie of the Year.

Mr. Novak, in three years with Palm Computing, was involved in market development, third party solution support, relationship management and platform evangelism. Earlier he was with Apple Computers, working in the Apple Link, eWorld and Worldwide Channel systems groups and the Partnership Evangelism team.
