telecom technologies, inc., a leading provider of telecommunications software products and services, today announced that Brian M. Forbes has joined the company as vice president of business development.
In his new position, Forbes will be responsible for creating new and enhancing existing partnerships with other leading telecommunications industry suppliers that have contributed so extensively to telecom technologies' remarkable success. Most recently he was a consultant to the company, directing the development of products to make possible the convergence of legacy and emerging telecommunications networks through integration of control and application intelligence, otherwise known as a softswitch.
"Brian's thorough grounding in technology along with his business acumen make him an indispensable member of the telecom technologies team," said Anousheh Ansari, chairman of the board and company founder. "He has helped the company develop and launch softswitch products that, coupled with hardware from our partners, offer true networking convergence and a comprehensive solution to existing and emerging service providers."
Prior to joining telecom technologies, Forbes was vice president of technical services for Allied Riser Communications, a competitive service provider. He was responsible for designing, implementing and operating the company's broadband IP network interconnecting office buildings in major U.S. markets. With more than 18 years of industry experience, Forbes has also held positions at Inacom, where he was vice president of operations, and MCI Systemhouse, at which he assisted in developing distributed computing solutions for Fortune 1000 companies.
Forbes earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from the Technical University of Nova Scotia. He resides in Plano with his wife and three children.
In other news from telecom technologies, Terri Griffin has been promoted to vice president of marketing. Ansari predicts these changes will help the privately held company continue its impressive growth well into the future.
