SCHAUMBURG, Ill. and SANTA CLARA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Oct. 14, 1999--

Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO) and Motorola, Inc. (NYSE: MOT) today announced an agreement to enable access to Yahoo! content and services(a) from Motorola's Internet-connected wireless devices. Several of Motorola's newest, most innovative devices will link to Yahoo! and provide consumers with access to a range of Yahoo! services that have been formatted for display on mobile devices.

"Our goal has always been to extend Yahoo!'s popular Web services to a range of PC, phones, PDAs, access and communication providers," said Mohan Vishwanath, vice president of Yahoo! Everywhere, Yahoo! Inc. "As part of our Yahoo! Everywhere(TM) strategy, we are committed to making Yahoo! services available to users of any device, from any access point, at any time. This agreement with Motorola further enables our users to benefit from Yahoo! content and services without being tied to a home or office PC."

"Yahoo!," said Janiece Webb, senior vice president and general manager of Motorola's Personal Networks Group. "We are delighted that consumers will be able to access Yahoo! Services over Motorola's Mobile Internet Exchange(TM). MIX is Motorola's integrated voice and data platform."

Yahoo! users will have wireless access to personalized content delivered by two-way interactive services to select Motorola devices. Dedicated bookmarks will appear on the phones' display to connect directly to Motorola's web site for individual Motorola account information or to purchase phones and service. The Yahoo! service and Motorola phones will allow people to access Yahoo! Mail (http://mail.yahoo.com) to view, originate, reply and delete email messages; Yahoo! Address Book (http://addressbook.yahoo.com) with full search and retrieval functionality; and, Yahoo! Calendar (http://calendar.yahoo.com) with preferences accessible to add, edit or delete scheduled appointments.

Motorola plans to begin shipment of select new Internet-connected phones starting in the fourth quarter. The service is being demonstrated at Telecom 99 in Geneva, Oct. 10-17.
