Trinity Industries To Convert Railcar Manufacturing Facility
Business Wire, Oct 18, 1999
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 18, 1999--
Trinity Industries Inc. (NYSE:TRN) today said it will convert an existing manufacturing facility from railcar to highway bridge girder production.
Conversion of the Denton, Texas, facility, which is currently making tankcar tanks, will begin on November 1 with girder production starting by the end of the calendar year.
Trinity Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Timothy R. Wallace said, "As we have demonstrated throughout our history, one of Trinity's core strengths is our ability to convert existing manufacturing facilities into different uses in response to changing market demands. Spurred by recent transportation spending legislation, our highway bridge business is experiencing excellent growth, which we expect to continue. This conversion provides us with greater production capacity in a growing market at the ideal time in the cycle."
Trinity Industries Inc., with headquarters in Dallas, is one of the nation's leading diversified industrial growth companies. Trinity operates through five principal product divisions: a Railcar Group, an Industrial Group, a Highway Construction Products Group, an Inland Barge Group, and a Concrete and Aggregate Group.
