Business Wire, Oct 19, 1999
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 19, 1999--
Dallas-based Trinity Industries Inc. (NYSE:TRN) today announced the formation of a new subsidiary, TEMCO (Trinity Equipment Manufacturing Company Inc). TEMCO plans to manufacture, install and distribute truck-mounted concrete mixers and parts for ready-mix concrete producers.
The TEMCO plant, located in Fort Worth, Texas, began production this week. Trinity converted the Fort Worth plant from producing railcars to TEMCO products. One of Trinity's strengths is its ability to shift between product lines at its production facilities.
TEMCO is strategically positioned to serve the three largest markets in the United States -- Texas, California and Florida. The average life of the type of concrete mixer to be produced by TEMCO is approximately 10-20 years.
"TEMCO expects to set a new standard for quality and production efficiency in the construction equipment manufacturing industry," said William O'Connell, president of the new company. Bill was formerly with Milwaukee-based RexCon and has 30 years' experience in the concrete machinery industry.
Trinity Industries Inc., with headquarters in Dallas, is one of the nation's leading diversified industrial growth companies. Trinity operates through five principal product divisions: a Railcar Group, an Industrial Group, a Highway Construction Products Group, an Inland Barge Group, and a Concrete and Aggregate Group.
